Droitwich RFC 21st March match review
The game was a hard fought battle between two sides. Droitwich held their position in the Luctonians 22 for most of the first half of the game. Droitwitch kept trying to battle through Luc's defences with little success and not managing to score. At the end of the first half the game was tied at 0-0.
Then in the first ten minutes of the second half Droitwich broke through,
and excellent forwards attack and quick second phase ball which was passed
out to the backs reaching Keiran Walton (Centre) who was tackled, but
managed to hold his self up long enough to get a pass back to Scott Howell
(Fly Half), who then miss passed to Hector Silva (Winger) who managed
scrambled over in the corner. This was an excellent team effort with
forwards and backs showing both strength and discipline and the skill of
Scott Howell to see an opportunity and capitalize on it.
Josh Feek (No: 8) the team captain then converted and excellent try from the
edge of the pitch to make the score 7 - 0 to Droitwich
The rest of the game was played in DRFC's 22, Luctonians throwing everything
at Droitwich's defences, inevitably getting frustrated and attempting to
spoil the game. However Droitwich kept their composure and held Luc's off
with some strategic kicking by scrum half Joseph Ingle, pushing Luc's to the
half way line. Luc's again loosing their discipline which resulted in the
referee eventually blowing the whistle and a Droitwich Win! The final will
be played at Luctonians on the 25th April between Droitwich & Hereford
